The Centre for Policy Research on Men and Boys conducts non-partisan research on issues that affect the well-being of boys and men across the UK and designs programs and policies to help them thrive.

Executive Members
Nick Isles (Director): Nick is a writer, and advocate for responsible capitalism and was the former Chair of the High Pay Centre. He has a background in corporate strategy and social policy, and has authored influential work on business ethics and the future of work.

Mark Brooks (Director of Policy and Communications): Mark is a sector leader and adviser in the fields of men and boys’ public policy, communications and delivery. He has an OBE and honorary doctorate for his work in these fields.

Founding trustees
Richard Reeves is Chair of the Board of CPRMB and President of the American Institute for Boys and Men (AIBM) and a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. A former director of Demos, he is an author and commentator on social mobility, education, and gender equity.
Professor Sir Michael Marmot is a world-renowned epidemiologist and public health expert, best known for leading the landmark Marmot Reviews on health inequalities. He is Professor of Epidemiology at University College London and a former President of the World Medical Association.
Professor Roger Kirby is the former President of the Royal Society of Medicine and a distinguished urologist, with a long-standing commitment to men’s health and medical education. He has authored numerous publications and founded The Prostate Centre in London.
Sonia Flynn CBE is a senior leader in the UK criminal justice system, having served as Chief Probation Officer and in other high-level roles within HM Prison and Probation Service. She was awarded a CBE for services to offender management and public safety.
Will Hutton is a political economist, writer, and commentator, currently serving as President of the Academy of Social Sciences. A former editor-in-chief of The Observer and author of several influential books, he is a prominent voice on economic reform and social justice.
Phil Collins is a former speechwriter for Prime Minister Tony Blair and co-founder of The Draftwriters, a consultancy specializing in political and corporate communication. He is also a columnist and author known for his insights into politics and rhetoric.
Jo Coburn is a journalist who has been at the heart of reporting, and, presenting politics and current affairs on TV and Radio for 30 years. This has primarily been for the BBC where up until recently she was the main presenter for Politics Live. She is currently a presenter on Times Radio.
Gaby Hinsliff is a journalist, columnist, and former political editor of The Observer, widely respected for her commentary on politics, society, and gender. She writes regularly for The Guardian and other outlets, bringing thoughtful analysis to current affairs.
Dr. Anna Machin is an evolutionary anthropologist at the University of Oxford, whose research explores human relationships, fatherhood, and social bonding. Her book The Life of Dad is an essential book on fatherhood. She is also a science communicator and author, translating complex ideas about human behaviour for wider audiences.
Sonia Sodha is a experienced columnist, author and broadcaster. She has written for The Guardian and The Observer and presented documentaries on BBC Radio 4 on topics such as multiculturalism and deliberative democracy.
Dr. Tim Shand is a global health and gender equality advocate, with extensive experience leading programs focused on men’s health, reproductive rights, and gender-based violence. He has held senior roles with international organizations including Promundo and UN agencies.
Secretariat
Mike Bell is the Honorary Treasurer. and Chair of the Advisory Panel. He is the Secretariat lead for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Men and Boys Issues, where he works to advance understanding and policy development around the challenges facing men and boys in the UK.
